What is an OUROBOROS ?
An ouroboros is an ancient alchemical symbol of a dragon or serpent devouring it's own tail. It is meant to represent the cyclical nature of everything. Self-reflexivity in that it eats itself to sustain itself, creating endless renewal - the eternal return.
It has been used in different cultures throughout time.
I chose this symbol for my hoops since hooping has given me the gift of the death of my
self-consciousness/awkward clumsiness and the birth of a new spirit of self-expression and grace/flow to explore. Hooping has helped ease my spirit of stress and worry,
as well as kept my body flexible and coordinated.
Various spellings: Ouroboros, Ouroborus, Oroboros, Uroborus
