Size matters.
The bigger and heavier the diameter of the hoop the easier and slower it will be to use.
If you are a beginner I suggest your first hoop be around as tall as your belly button
if it was standing in front of you.
The smaller and lighter the hoop means it will spin faster.
This is a better hoop for intermediate or high-energy hoopers, also kids.
I suggest these for people who are looking to do tricks
because they are more responsive and lightweight.
(plus they don't hurt as much as a big heavy hoop when they whack you in the face)
Tape adds weight, decoration and grip.
Every layer of tape makes a difference in how the hoop feels.
I use vinyl, gaffer, decorative and glow-in-the-dark.

These hoops are 1/2" and generally for children under 4' tall.
All kids hoops include beads (noise-maker).

3/4" tubing / 1-2 lbs. / varying diameters
Trick
This is a smaller and lighter hoop.
For those who can handle the basics and are looking to do tricks and hoop faster.
1/2" tubing / No more than 1.5 lb. / varying diameters
